The Santa Barbara Council of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) will host Paul N. Stam, JD, LL.M., MS, the Executive Director and Trusts and Estates Strategist for Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Department, San Francisco, as the speaker at their meeting on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. The lunch meeting will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Harry’s Plaza Café, 3313 State Street, Santa Barbara. This educational meeting is sponsored by Farmers and Merchants Trust Company. In his role as Executive Director and Trusts and Estates Strategist in Morgan Stanley’s Private Wealth Management department, Stam provides customized planning strategies to high net worth individuals and families. His services include advanced estate planning techniques, cash flow analysis, executive compensation planning, risk management analysis, and retirement, business succession, charitable and income tax planning.
Stam earned his Bachelor’s degree in English from U.C. Irvine; his Juris Doctor cum laude from Western State University College of Law, where he was Executive Editor of Western State’s Law Review; his Master of Laws in Taxation with honors from Golden Gate University; and his Master of Science in Financial Planning from the College of Financial Planning. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2005, Stam was a Senior Vice President at The Private Bank at Bank of America. Prior to Bank of America, Stam practiced law for over a decade and most recently was a partner in the regional law firm of Kring & Brown, LLP. He is also the author of two novels, The Trust Company, published in 2012, and The Long Squeeze, published in 2015.
